3/20/2023 0 Comments Cabo san lucas family surf hotel![]() Surf photographer Tom Servais (famous surfing photographer from Surfing Magazine) will show a special collection of photos and explain how he captures that perfect moment. ![]() They will screen "cult surf films" (think action-packed documentaries) on the roof followed by a Q & A with the pros who can answer questions about what guests just saw. Then there are the surfing cultural activities. With the guidance (and the actual surfboards) of the pros, guests will be able to get in the water and try their skills. They will then take a surfing workshop with Curran and his friend Damien Hobgood, a world championship surfer who vacations often in Cabo. There is some effort required. Every morning participants will take a daily morning yoga class, a ritual surfers engage in to limber up for the day ahead. And they are ensuring the entire weekend is all about surfing. The hotel teamed up with travel adventure company MANSA VIDA that was founded by pro-surfers Rob Machado and Tim Curran to pull off the weekend. Different dates will be offered with the first one taking place May 19 - 22. These waves are so big and intense, they are usually reserved for expert surfers (that's why it's so fun to watch!) But The Cape has decided to take advantage of its perfect location and offer surfing lessons and surf-themed activities for people of all level with a special package. Even when there are no waves anywhere else on the island, there are waves on Monuments. These barrels are perfect for surfing, and they are constant. Huge rocks intercept waves causing them to form barrels instead of level out at sea. Monuments is popular among surfers because it is something called a point break. It's so close guests can wake up, get a cup of coffee, and watch the show from anywhere in the hotel, including their rooms. Lots of them, who happen to come from all over the world to the tiny beach right next to the resort called Monuments Beach. If the natural scenery doesn't do it, there is another beautiful site that might capture visitors' interest: surfers. ![]() ![]() The male whales do tricks to try and win over the females.) But you can also see the view just as well from the see-through shower, the bath tub located in the middle of the hotel room, or the perfectly situated bed for starring. Each room gets a private balcony and most have a swing, a perfect spot for watching sailboats and jumping whales (they mate in Cabo in the winter. The resort even has Cabo San Lucas's only rooftop lounge (with a beer garden) to stare at it from above.Įach one of the 161 guest rooms is built as a glass box, giving resort guests unlimited views of not only the arch, but the Sea of Cortez and the Bahía San Lucas horizon. Every facility from the communal infinity pools to the private plunge pools to the sexy mescal bar is designed to provide the best views of it. While visitors at other hotels have to travel to see it, guests of The Cape can see it from anywhere. The resort, that only opened June 26, 2015, is located directly across the sea from El Arco or "The Golden Arch," a rock formation that has become the defining landmark of Cabo. ![]()
